The 1787 Project

Thousands of hours of independent research, hundreds of books and thousands of articles form the academic foundations of the 1787 Project, a six-volume treatise on race in American history. Volume I provides an extensive examination of all variables involved prior to and surrounding the Founding Era, including religious, scientific, and philosophical influences that struggled with concepts of chattel slavery and human inferiority. This broad but purposeful examination provides critical context that argues against the contemporary thesis that racism and slavery were the ideological foundations of the United States. A practical review of these myriad factors and events absolves the Founding doctrine and those great men who framed it from the biased rhetoric of historical revisionists, revealing instead a novel political and governmental structure that was diametrically opposed to the timeless tradition of human bondage.
