Border Diary

Emenél is Moreno Turi’s new solo project, a musical project that he likes to call elettronicanegra (blackelectronic), a sort of pot in which tastes from various epicentres of worldwide electronic music mix together, with a strong black taste made of upbeat rhythms and syncopated/off-grid beats, which are part of the artist's background. And if this is Emenél, Border Diary is the debut album of the artist who, just like in a proper diary, tells us about his recent experiences. Listening to Border Diary, you can hear that its matrix is digital, but also that its nature is deeply analog: more than half of the record is made up of electronic suggestions, pads and sound inventions that were created through the singer/producer's voice. In this way, desk and parquet become a drumkit, tongue snaps become snare drums and laments replace arpeggiators and basses. Thanks to a meticulous research, the voice transforms itself into matter, instruments, music, and becomes a vehicle for the artist’s personal experiences. Border Diary: Border Diary is a diary created on the border between two worlds. From the memories of the south to the house in the north. From the uselessness of universities to the sweat in music festivals. From a form of being to a form of thinking. Between lived and observed life. Border Diary is a diary of boundary, reconciliation and consciousness. Moreno Turi (bio): Singer/producer/author/composer/performer, he was Steela's frontman until 2012, currently on stage alongside Roy Paci & Aretuska and The Sweet Life Society from Turin. With these projects, over the years, he has played in front of hundreds of thousands of people, playing in major clubs in Italy and Europe (Amsterdam Paradiso or the Underground Village in London to name a few) and in festivals such as the Glastonbury Festival, Boomtown, Sziget, Eurosonic and more.
