The main hero of the book is a "father" named "Nikos" who from an early age worked to support his family, from the age of twelve, when his father Anastasis died. Due to World War II and the enslavement of Greece by the Germans, at the age of seventeen, he participated, helped transport eighteen Greek Army officers from the coast of Attica to Alexandria, Egypt, where other Greek soldiers were also stationed. , the Battle of El Alamein, in the Royal Navy movement in the year one thousand nine hundred and forty - four that took place in Alexandria.
