Life On Mars

Mars is a planet like Earth. It revolves around the Sun on a course that is outside Earth's. Its diameter, 6,800 km, is therefore almost exactly equal to the length of the Brazilian coast. Mars is recognizable by its bright, reddish light. With good telescopes you can see its surface and see that a day on Mars is almost as long as a day on Earth.' Light and dark spots are seen, with lines of communication between the dark areas, the so-called channels. It is concluded that dark places are seas, linked together through the land through rivers or canals. In the course of a year on Mars, you can see a change in color in parts of the land, which indicates vegetation, forests, etc. It can also be verified that Mars has an atmosphere of composition almost identical to that of Earth. Occasionally, clouds are observed. At the two poles, during the winter of Mars, white regions appear, which during the summer recede, which leads to the conclusion that there is ice and melting. In the years 1882 to 1888, the Italian astronomer Schiaparelli found duplication of some channels. The doubling of a channel happens very quickly, within a few days, lasting for an entire season of the year. The doubling was not, however, visible every year, at the same time, on all channels. There is no doubt that the elemental forces of nature work in living motion and periodic rhythm on the surface of Mars. It is evident that this planet lives and creates, in works similar to those on Earth. On June 24, 1954, the planet Mars was in opposition to the Sun, that is, as seen from Earth, Mars was opposite the Sun, visible in the sky throughout the night. On that day its distance from Earth was 65 million kilometers. On July 2, it approached Earth, the distance between both planets being 64 million kilometers. Then it moved away again, reaching in May 1955 a distance of about 400 million kilometers.
