"Million Dollar Quartet" è una celebre sessione di registrazione improvvisata che ha riunito le icone del Rock & Roll Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis e Carl Perkins, per la prima e unica volta insieme. Il 4 dicembre 1956 questi quattro giovani musicisti si sono ritrovati agli studi Sun Records di Memphis per quello che sarebbe stata una delle più grandi jam session di sempre. Questo doppio LP presenta questa leggendaria sessione nella sua interezza, mantenendo la sequenza di registrazione originale. In questo album si possono ritrovare alcuni dei brani più popolari di quel periodo, come "Rip It Up," "Don't Forbid Me," and "Out of Sight, Out of Mind," oltre ad alcuni canzoni di Elvis ("Don't Be Cruel," "Love Me Tender," and "Paralyzed") di Chuck Berry ("Brown-Eyed Handsome Man" e "Too Much Monkey Business"), così come melodie tradizionali e alcuni classici Country e Bluegrass.
