Cofanetto che rende giustizia alla più grande vocalist jazz di tutti i tempi. “Rare live recordings 1934 – ‘59” raccoglie, in ben 5 cd, tutto il materiale conosciuto e non registrato dalla grande “lady-day” in occasione di produzioni cinematografiche, da “Symphony in black” a “New Orleans”, concerti in importanti teatri, dallo show all’Apollo Theatre o al Savoy alla celebre apparizione a Monterey, sino ad arrivare a show televisivi dell’epoca. Quel che più conta sono, in queste più di 6 ore di musica, le numerose prove di concerti inedite sino ad ora e le non meno rare foto messe a disposizione dall’Institute of Jazz Studies che fanno di questo cofanetto un must per i fans della divina Billie e per i cultori della buona musica in generale.
