Romsey Through Time

The small market town of Romsey, nestled on the River Test in Hampshire, has history at its core: whether it's the 10th century Norman abbey at the heart of the town; Embley Park, once the home of Florence Nightingale, on the outskirts; Broadlands, the country estate where Lord Palmerston, the 19th century British Prime Minister, was born (and lived for many years) and later became the home of Lord Mountbatten of Burma; or the Romsey Remount Camp, where tens of thousands of horses and mules were prepared for service in the First World War.
