A genetic psychology: Vygotsky's cultural-historical psychology Lev Vygotski (1896-1934), created a psychological theory in which the human being is the subject of cultural processes, following the method of Marx and where his interlocutor will be Piaget, whom he criticizes. His work dates from the 1980s in Western psychology. He lived in a relevant cultural and geographical environment, finding himself in a privileged position between tradition and modernity (hard sciences and humanities). He was influenced by the school of the formalists in relation to language as an instrument of diverse human activities. The ideas about the dialogical nature of thought together with Bakhtin, were the bases for the emergence of a new type of logic, which takes the dialogical conscience of the sciences of man. He also developed the notions of semiotic mediation of human activity and that meanings are constituent elements of human consciousness. He studied from linguistics to the psychologies of his time and much more. With his doctorate, thanks to a work on the psychology of art, he established that art creates life instead of reflecting it. From the analysis of the work of art he suggests that we can distinguish between higher or cultural functions and lower or natural mental processes.
