Jazz pianist Chick Corea’s wonderful jazz record Tones for Joan’s Bones is his first record as a leader of a hard bop group. Besides his piano melodies, tenor player Joe Farrell and trumpeter Woody Shaw adding an extra dimension to the different compositions. “Straight Up and Down” is the most ambitious track, the most on the edge, but a lot of other songs also showing the true skills of the different band members.
