Questo LP in edizione Vinyl Lovers contiene uno dei più rari album di Hooker, l'omonimo “John Lee Hooker”. Originariamente pubblicato nel 1962 dall'etichetta Galaxy, sussidiaria della Fantasy Records, l'album include una selezione di brani introvabili registrati da Hooker con la sua chitarra elettrica durante diverse sessioni degli anni Cinquanta, tutti prodotti da Bernard Besman, l'uomo che ha contribuito a definire il suono nelle registrazioni di Hooker.
