Il leggendario bluesman Elmore James è stato forse il chitarrista slide più influente del dopoguerra ed è considerato un pioniere del blues-rock. James iniziò la sua carriera nel 1939, ma le sue registrazioni migliori risalgono gli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta e furono realizzate per diverse etichette come Flair, Tromba, Capo, Chess e Fire Records. Questa raccolta include alcuni dei suoi grandi classici blues tra cui “Dust My Broom”, “Shake Your Moneymaker”, “Standing at the Crossroads”, e la ballata soul “The Sky Is Crying”.
